Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years (or 2 years post PhD) in power system product development or related field. Experience with electric utility companies is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in power systems and control system simulations using tools like EMT and RMS
- Experience with power system analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, PSS/E, or PSCAD. Familiarity with RTDS/RSCAD is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of power systems control, especially for grid-connected power electronics converters
- Understanding of battery technologies and energy storage systems
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, grid codes, and FAT/SAT processes
- Experience with agile tools like Jira, TFS is desirable
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new power system products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and test prototypes of new power system products
- Provide technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of power and energy applications
- Engage with customers to provide guidance and support on product selection, integration, and troubleshooting
- Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate new product concepts and designs
- Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance and regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed design documentation including specifications, schematics, technical requirements, and test reports
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to provide technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current on best practices and new programming languages
- Document solutions through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
- Ensure good quality of customer interactions through email, fault report tracking, voice calls, and business etiquette
- Respond to customer requests promptly with no instances of complaints internally or externally
